Winter Wickedness in Worthington

Winter Wickedness at the Worthinton Holiday Inn runs through tonight but I believe it is sold out already... if you are so inclined.

Dean Narciso wrote about "the festival" for the Columbus Dispatch:  Columbus Dispatch:  Winter Wickedness Perversion Fest draws heat

I first  saw something about it on the news last night on Channel 10...  I must not have been paying much attention... maybe half asleep?  I thought "Is that Worthington?" When I heard Worthington I tried to tell myself it was at a Holiday Inn in the Crosswoods area (City of Columbus), not the Holiday Inn in Worthington.

Channel 10 News: Churches Protest Sexual Festival At Hotel says:

"Paper and trash bags covered the doors and windows of the hotel during the event"

Wonder how the church groups even knew about the event?  Wonder why they chose Worthington. Worthington is one of the most traditional looking  communities in Central Ohio.  Worthington with it's brick colonial structures lining High Street seems like an odd place for a "Sexual Festival."

Not that I would venture to name another Central Ohio suburb as more suitable... for a "Sexual Festival."

The church groups got the Columbus Health Department involved.  The Columbus Health Department covers the City of Worthington as well as Columbus.

Winter Wickedness was Friday and Saturday night.

My office is kitty corner from the Holiday Inn on High Street in Worthington.  I drove by a few times yesterday, clueless.

Bob your comment had to be removed.  The Dispatch took the high ground.  10 TV took the high ground,  If your message is what I think it is, you do "your side" damage by being graphic and turning this into something that it is not,  It is not political.  It has nothing to do with who the president of the US is.

I find it interesting that a private event, which is completely invisible to anyone outside of its participants (consenting adults who choose to be there) is criticized like this anywhere in modern day America.  It is simple, it may not be my kind of thing, but if I don't like it, I'm not being forced to view or participate in it.  It is none of my business what goes on there as long as it isn't in plain view to me and there isn't anything forcing me to stop my car and go inside to be exposed to it.

What I did find interesting in driving by the hotel were the protesters, in plain view of children, having two "Ken" dolls bound together in a very sexually inappropriate manner.  This to me was disgusting.  Those protesters are the ones that I believe are doing things that shouldn't be done.  Exposing minors and others who didn't want to see that type of thing (myself included) to this type of imagery publically and very visibly was inexcusable.

Just my opinion from driving by on Saturday and happening to see what the protesters were doing.  Sadly, they are considered by many to be the "moral and just" people, but are the ones who are forcing people who are non consenting to view the things they are pushing.  Those inside in my opinon can do whatever they want, they are in a private venue, and not making anyone participate or view what they are doing.

"is criticized like this"

Criticized? Here?  Or by people on the street protesting?  In America they have the right to protest peacefully. Tasteful or untasteful it is up to the protester.

I had no interest in seeing any of it first hand.

I remember the protesters on Wilson Bridge back when an adult establishment was next to the McDonalds vaguely.  This too shall pass.
