Kilbourne Middle School Get's an A+ or the Excellent with Distinction grade on it's report card! The preliminary report card for the middle school is available on a spread sheet with all Ohio schools from the Ohio Department of Education.
Kilbourne Middle School in the Worthington City School District received a grade of Excellent with Distinction from the Ohio Department of Education for the 2011 - 2012 school year. The delayed school report cards were released last week, Wednesday October 17, 2012 by the Ohio Department of Education.
The grades available to Ohio schools from the Ohio Department of Education are:
- Excellent with Distinction
- Continuous Improvement
- Academic Watch
- Academic Emergency
Is an "A+" an accurate way to describe the rating from the Ohio Department of Education? To use grades* that most of us are more familiar with:
- A+ = Excellent with Distinction
- A = Excellent
- B = Effective
- C = Continuous Improvement
- D = Academic Watch
- F = Academic Emergency

Kilbourne Middle School's Excellent with Distinction Grade, all Worthington City School District grades and all grades for all Ohio schools are "preliminary." The state has an ongoing investigation / audit of school records. The Ohio Department of Education released preliminary report cards for Ohio school districts and individual schools last week on October 17, 2012.
Worthington City School District got an A+
The district, Worthington schools receiverd an A+ from the state as well. A preliminary A+. The Worthington City School District site says "Preliminary Results Indicate Excellent with Distinction" for the Worthington City School Disctrict and concludes "ODE will not publish the Local Report Cards until the investigation by the Auditor of State is concluded..."
The Report Card section of the Ohio Department of Education site has report cards for the 2010 - 2011 school year. The information for the 2011 - 2012 school year are available on a spread sheet on the Ohio Department of Education site. If you are a Columbus Dispatch subscriber they have a nifty database of the information released from the Ohio Department of education. Initially I looked at the data on the Columbus Dispatch site, I am cut off now. The Columbus Dispatch site is much easier to use. I was surprised to see as much as I did online on the Columbus Dispatch on the 18th. I love their database. It is easiest to see grades by looking at a county, all school districts on their site. I am using the spreadsheet now.

The Worthington City School District website has current attendance maps and a street guide for the disctrict as well as access to the Kilbourne Middle School website. Presently elementary school neighborhoods that attend the Colonial Hills, Evening Street and Wilson Hill elementary schools go on to school at Kilbourne Middle School.
