"I'm giving up open houses for Lent"

The image is an ecard for an April 2010 promotion Real Living HER did - Open House April.
Recently in inquiring whether agents in my office who lists a lot had anything they wanted open on March 6, 2011 I said "I'm giving up open houses for Lent."
I was kind of joking but I was also kind of not joking. I have conflicts on Sundays during the next 40 + / - days. In response I got an email kinda lecturing me on giving up candy instead... because holding open houses was so important to my business...
I did not hold an open house on March 6, 2011.
I can not hold an open house on March 13, 3011....
Will Real Living HER be doing an Open House promotion in April 2011? We're just a week into March, perhaps that information will be provided sometime. Prehaps open houses are not important in Central Ohio in 2011 as they were in 2010.
Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday!
Wednesday is Ash Wednesday.
Easter is Sunday April 24, 2011. A late Easter.
I will keep up with the Real Living HER Open House List but mostly I'm giving up open houses for Lent.

Love it! Great idea. I do open houses on Thursday evenings....works awesome.
I am thinking about doing that Navona. We used to do them as a group on Thursday's back in 2006? 2005?
I was thinking the first Thursday after the time change would be good but that is St. Patrick's Day!!!!!
Maureen, I agree there is always something hence you just have to do it. We had the Oscars, then before that Presidents day so for all practical reasons we should not have had one in February there was an excuse for every weekend:)))
Maureen ... giving up open houses is far better than just giving up! Focus on what's important ... today .... tomorrow will take care of itself ... and you have all summer to play open house make-up!
Endre, I think I had one three out of four weekends in February but we do not have the Oscars. Just snow.
Jack I have an out of town buyer who wants to look at homes Sunday now. If she comes to town she likes to have 6 or more to look at and she will ask to see different areas. Still it is less time consuming than an open house.
