St. John's Church Worthington Ohio

St. Johns Episcopal Church Worthington Ohio

The first service at St. John's Episcopal Church in Worthington Ohio was on January 23, 1831 according to the Worthington Memory Timeline.    I found another source that says 1832 but let's believe the Worthington Memory / Worthington Historical Society.  OK?

1831ish?  Long, long ago.

This photograph of St. John's Church was taken December 24, 2010. The post is about another anniversary for the historic Worthington Ohio church, first time the bell rang, December 24, 1833.

What a beautiful church, Maureen!  I think it is great that old churches still chime their bells!  When are the Buckeyes going to trip up in basketball and let Purdue share first place?

For the USA that is an old church. It looks in great shape too.

I love this church, just yesterday I started ,in my head of course, a blog about all of the old churches in my community.  You just gave me the push to just do it!

That is a beautiful church.  We were there years ago for the baptism of our nephew.  I didn't realize it was that old.

Bruce  Our office is moving... we would love to be closer to downtown Worthington.  I would love to be much closer to this church... not saying anything because it is top secret and undecided and who knows   but I would love to hear the bells up close and personal.

Church goer? You could pray for that...    or I guess you don't have to go to church to pray...

Ellie Old for the midwest. The church has been added onto over the years.  Old is treasured in Worthington.

Navona One year I did a series about Worthington's churches at Easter time.... with Easter so late this will be a great year for Easter photos of chuch even in the frozen north.

Tony  Oldest in Worthington... Oldest congregation, oldest church building.  Worthington is older than Columbus but I wonder about some of the churches downtown.  Worthington was almost 30 years old when this building was erected by the settlers.

I am always surprised when I get inside how cozy it is inside,  I have only been in the other church on the Village Green once.  I have been in the building a lot but just this last year walked inside their sanctuary.
