Hi Maureen... I have been seeing bottles of Purell and other antibacterial lotion on desks and at cash registers, etc. for days now.  My question is, OK, you use it, then you go touch a door handle, a public computer keyboard, and file cabinet pull, etc. and you've got to debacterialize again... I'm just not sure that this does anything but give people a false sense that they are doing something helpful.  Frankly, I think periodic handwashing does more good since it does not kill all the helpful bacteria.

... too funny - thats a SuperSized bottle of GermX !!!

I must admit, I have a mini Purel in my car, and one in pen-format that squirts when you press the top !

Great idea not just for the H1N1 flu but at all times.  Hand washing and stuff is a good idea at all times.

I've heard conflicting reports about the efficacy of these, but I sure wish I owned their stock about now.

Thanks for the comments all.   I think hand sanitizer is for when you sneeze or cough....  the door knobs, computer kieyboards etc should be clean because all the hands are clean.  I could have gone looking for the container of Clorox wipes...  tp photograph that.... that is for phones and keyboards...

I have a little bottle of hand sanitizer in my office... and a tiny purse size.   I am not sure whether one of the front desk crew brought this huge bottle  in for their personal use or  communal use, It is NOT as drying as the stuff I have.

I think these days it's every desk, sink, etc. ...now there's a thought for a stock to buy, hmmm ? That and the flu remedies ! We have a gal in our office who is forever carrying sanitizer and lysol and all kinds of cleaning agents...a little phobic with doorknobs....and now I am wondering if she isn't right ! Stay healthy !

Hi Maureen, my juvenile mind read you blog title all wrong, like a whole big bowl of wrong. I read it as Hiney Flu. Hope you are doing well today.

I saw a comment on my phone Cynthia and it looked like it said HINI flu. Maybe there are supposed to be spaces or dashes?  Our local paper went back to calling it Swine Flu yesterday.
