Worthington Highlands neighborhood

Worthington Highland neighborhood sign The Worthington Highlands neighborhood is north of 270 so definitely the far north part of Franklin County.

Location, Location, Location

Worthington Highlands is in the City of Columbus and the neighborhood is in the Worthington School District.

Worthington Highlands has a Westerville ZIP code, 43081. Neighborhoods north of Park Road in the Worthington School district are in the 43081 ZIP code.    The homes just south of Park Road are in the Worthington ZIP code, 43085 (they are also in the City of Columbus and in the Worthington School District.)

The through streets in Worthington Highlands run north to south from Park Rd to Lazelle Road.  You can get into the east side of the neighborhood from Sancus Road.

History

The Worthington Highlands area was developed in the late 80's.  Most of the homes in the Worthington Highlands development were built by MI Homes, Ryland Homes or Virginia Homes I believe.  The earliest I can find is built in 1986 according to the auditor.  Latest homes?  I am guessing about 1992 or 1993 I sold one of the last few new homes built by a small builder... in the early 1990's.

To put this in perspective... the first concert at Polaris Ampitheater was in 1994?  Worthington Highlands was a neighborhood where you could hear the concerts I believe.... Worthington Highlands was the end of civilization... (kind of) yes there were some Lewis Center neighborhoods or even neighborhoolds with a Galena mailing address north of Worthington Highlands "out in the country."  There was not a Polaris interchange or a Polaris Parkway "just up the road a piece." It was country...  Wondering when the big Bank One bulding went in just north of Worthington Highlands?  Early 90's I believe.

Today

According to Google the neighborhood has a community website but I kept getting an error code.  Or I'd give you the link...

Worthington Highlands is very convenient to the Polaris area for shopping, restaurants, etc.  Other shopping nearby is Worthington Centre (corner of Worthington Galena and Park Rd.)  Or Worthington, Old Worthington or Worthington Square.  Or Crosswoods for more restaurants.
