Olde Sawmill neighborhood

Olde Sawmill  Located in northwest Columbus, the neighborhood is in the Columbus city limits.

I believe the Olde Sawmill neighborhood is all in the  43016 ZIP code.  Well if you really want to know the truth I thought the neighborhood was in the 43235 ZIP code...

it's not...

Dublin OH 43016.

The Olde Sawmill neighborhood is north of Hard Road, South of Summit View Road, East of Sawmill Road and west of Smoky Row Road.

Part of the Olde Sawmill neighborhood is in the Dublin School District and part is in the Worthington School District.  Right now the homes for sale in the Olde Sawmill neighborhood half are Dublin, half are Worthington.  The school district boundaries ín Central Ohio existed before the city of Columbus annexed the area which is Olde Sawmill today.

Olde Sawmill has a  wide variety of home styles.  The BIA Parade of homes was in Olde Sawmill in the early 1980's, I believe.

Summitview Woods a Columbus neighborhood

Long, long ago I had a listing on Worthingwoods Boulevard in Summitview Woods a City of Columbus neighborhood.  The house was just a couple of houses in from Shrockton St. I have semi happy memories of that listing even if the seller tried to saw my lockbox off the front door.*

Summitview Woods is legally and physically in the City of Columbus but the mailing address is Powell Ohio. The ZIP code for homes in the Summitview Woods neighborhood is 43065.

Summitview Wood map snippetThis little snippet of a Google map shows the Summitview Woods neighborhood.  I could not get Google maps to map the Summitview Woods neighborhood for me. I had been NOT been able to map Worthingwoods a neighborhood just east of Summitview Woods either (Google found Worthington Woods east of 23 instead of Worthingwood) but I  thought I could do Summitview Woods.  I tried "Summitview Woods" and "Summit View Woods" but got neither in 43065.  Summitview Woods is just north of Summit View Road and just east of Sawmill Road.

The Summitview Woods neighborhood is very close to cute little downtown Powell Ohio.  The City of Powell is in Delaware County.  The Summitview Woods neighborhood is in Franklin County. There is plenty of shopping along Sawmill Road too.  Not necesarily cute but grocery store etc.

Powell homes for sale - a market report (for the 43065 ZIP code) the Summitview Woods neighborhood is a bit more affordable than homes north of the county line in Delaware County.

Summitview Woods is in the Dublin City School District.  The Ohio School Districts boundaries were set long before the neighborhood was developed.   The school district boundaries pre-existed the City of Columbus annexing this land.   Summitview Woods is on the far east edge of the Dublin School District.  The next neighborhood east of Summitview Woods, Worthingwoods is in the Worthington School District.

*The story of the sellers trying to saw off a lockbox.   Sellers thought their house keys were stolen and were trying to saw into the key-box... or maybe it was the police that tried to saw into the key-box.  You can't.  They found their keys.  They got an offer on their house, it went in contract, it fell out of contract, I put it in contract again on Christmas Eve... we closed about a month later, everyone lived happily ever after.... I think. The story  of the lockbox with a photo of the scarred lockbox is here somewhere on my blog but I can not find it.

Another Summitview Woods anecdote?   I have a scar from a driveway in Summitview Woods too. On my right hand near the wrist... I did not sell that house, my buyers bought up in Delaware County... so I sometimes forget that the scar is from Summitview Woods.  I believe the driveway is on Breathstone Dr. the Summitview Woods driveway on a house I was showing that scarred me for life.

Tartan Ridge 2009 - New England Homes

New England Homes 2009 Parade of Homes Tartan Ridge The 2009 BIA Parade of Homes at Tartan Ridge in Dublin starts today.  Last night was the Preview Party... I've only gone to the preview party once over ten years ago and I was "the help."

I took this photo of the New England Homes Parade house earlier in the day Friday... if you look really, really close there is a big blue garbage can on the front porch, right next to the door of the New England Homes house.  There are also a pile of shoes by the front door.

Actually it is a great front porch. They have it set up with lots of rocking chairs, very inviting.

Most of the other Parade homes at Tartan Ridge also  had a garbage can out front  or another obstacle to make it hard to photograph on Friday afternoon. Lots of last minute details to attend to.  They were all busy preparing for opening night.   When I get to go back to see the Parade next week there will be people everywhere...

A video about the New England Homes 2009 Parade home at Tartan Ridge featuring Doug Anette mentions the house has two master suites plus a large bonus room over the garage with a full bath.

The New England Homes entry is sold. I believe their 2006 Parade of Homes entry which won the People's Choice award was sold before that parade of homes, but New England Homes sold a lot of homes because of their exposure at the BIA Parade of Homes. The New England Homes parade entr  was priced just under $900,000.  A number of the homes in the 2009 BIA Parade of Homes at Tartan Ridge are still available.

Anette mentions the pool at the end of the video.  It turned out very nice, very appealing on a hot July afternoon.

Tartan Ridge is in the Dublin School District. New England Homes 2009 Parade of Homes backyard pool Dublin is a suburb of Columbus Ohio, the Tartan Ridge neighborhood is in Union County.
