Worthington Fire Department Training

Worthington Fire Department Training at 6902 N. High St. Worthington, Ohio the "old" Worthington HER office.  The Worthington address will soon be the site of a Primrose School.

Worthington HER office

Stopping by Sunday, there was a sign on the other side of the driveway that said "PARKING LOT CLOSED" and had an official looking Worthington Fire Department sticker so we did not cross the line.

There was one lone car parked in the far south west corner of the lot that is was used heavily by J. Liu employees and as parking the last few years that Real Living HER, formerly known as HER REALTORS and that is what the sign on the front of the building says.

Can you see the holes in the roof?  I wanted to cross the line and go look at the back of the building as I always had an office on the back of the building, downstairs for many years, first on the inside (no windows), then on the back with a window... kind of looking out at the grade, then for the last few years upstairs.

I did not cross the line.

Early in the move from the building HER Realtors built and inhabited for decades we were told the Worthington Fire Department was going to burn down the office building at 6902 N. High St. but it is not going out in a blaze of glory, after all.  Neighbors would not appreciate it?  Too close to residential properties?

Instead they are using the soon to be demolished building for smaller training exercises.

Real Living HER Worthington formerly known as HER Realtors!

HER Office Old Worthington (I peaked in the windows yesterday at the new office in Old Worthington... there is progress.)

A Moving Experience - Real Living HER Worthington

The Real Living HER Worthington office is moving to Old Worthington.

A comment on my photo on Flickr from Don O'Brien tell's what the Old Worthington building's were when he was a child roaming the streets of Worthington with a camera.

Worthington, the Kilbourne Commercial Building

"I think the store on the right was once Sargent's, a variety store. The white building was Corbins Funeral Home. Sam and his wife, Cornelia?, lived on the second floor. The next building on the left was Birnie's Drug Store."

Corbin Funeral Home? Of course, Rutherford Corbin is one of two funeral homes in Worthington in 2011.

The white building at 681 High St. was an inn, a funeral home, a newspaper office and served other purposes over the years.  The building known as the Kilbourne Commercial Building is going to be the Real Living HER Worthington office in about 4 to six weeks.  Or at least the north side of the white brick building is going to be the Worthington HER office.

Real Living HER's Worthington office has been at 6902 N. High St. for years...  The company was formerly known as HER Realtors.   This photo was taken in early 2011.  I need a new one with leaves on the trees if it ever stops raining.
