There are two open houses on the Real Living HER Open House List!

.... However neither open house is "open" on January 1, 2012, New Years Day, both open houses are January 8, 2012.   A new listing in Lewis Center, joins a listing in Hilliard on the Real Living HER Open House List.  After the first of the year there should be more open houses on the open house list.

The graph shows home prices for Worthington single family homes for the past 15 months through November 2011.  This is homes in the Worthington City School District, so includes neighborhoods in Worthington, Columbus, Riverlea and unincorporated areas.

The Columbus Board of REALTORS announced November 2011 sales today December 21, 2011:

Worthington City School District real estate market  the average sale price is $191,940,  down 6.8% from November 2010.  The Columbus Board of REALTORS reports residential properties (includes condominiums.)   The focus of the news release from the Columbus Board of REALTORS was sales increase but it says sale prices were down in November for the entire MLS.  November 2011: Columbus Home Sales Up

Worthington home prices a market report for November 2011

Average for sale price -$248,000

Average sale price - $203,000

The average Worthington home for sale price in November was down 2% from November 2010.  The average sale price in November was down 12.9% from last year.

Worthington neighborhoods

This market report and graph "Worthington" includes homes for sale and sold in the cities of Columbus and Worthington, the village of Riverlea and unincorporated areas (Perry or Sharon township) in northern Franklin County.

Homes in the Worthington Corporation Limit, sometimes referred to as "Worthington Proper" include Colonial Hills,  Medick Estates, Old Worthington, Olentangy Hills, Rush Creek Village, Worthington Estates, Worthingway and other neighborhoods.

Riverlea is a small village in the Worthington City School District.  Riverlea has a 43085 mailing address.  Worthington provides fire and police service to Riverlea but Riverlea remains a village.

Columbus, Ohio 43085 homes in addition to homes in the City of Worthington and the Village of Riverlea, a little piece of Columbus north of 270 and a bit of Columbus west of Olentangy River Road and assorted unincorporated bits and pieces have this mailing address and are in the Worthington City School District. Neighborhoods in addition to City of Worthington properties include neighborhoods such as Deercreek, Olentangy Highlands, Village at Worthington, Worthington Trace,  Worthington Woods and many more neighborhoods.

A photo of W. Wilson Bridge Rd. in Worthington in 1937...

A photo of W. Wilson Bridge Road in Sharon Township in 1937. As Don O'Brien who took the photo of his friend and his brother says at the time, W. Wilson Bridge was not in the Worthington Corporation at the time... it was years before the area was annexed to the city of Worthington. I am guessing the mailing address for W. Wilson Bridge at the time would have been Worthington, Ohio? 

The photo is of course, not of W. Wilson Bridge Road!  The photo was taken in 1937 of his friend, his brother and the O'Brien family's dog "Chink."  W. Wilson Bridge Rd., a country road with telephone lines is just the back drop. 

Worthington including Old Worthington is the back drop for a lot of Don O'Brien's photos.  It is funny how many of his photos were of the cars on High Street. What a boy!  He went to school in Worthington.  If you look at his present day photos on Flickr many of Don O'Brien's photos are of old cars.

The graph shows how many months inventory (Columbus, Ohio 43235 homes for sale) there has been for the past 15 months.  In October 2011 the northwest Columbus area which is sometimes referred to as the West Worthington area had 5.9 months of inventory based on recent home sales in the zip code.  Compare that to October 2010 when there were 7.3 months of inventory.

The number of homes for sale was down 8.1% from October 2010 when there were 161 homes for sale in the Columbus, Ohio 43235 zip code.  October 2011 home sales were up 13.6% from a year earlier.  The 25 sales in the zip code was identical to September 2011 sales for the zip code.  The number of months inventory (Columbus, Ohio 43235 homes for sale) based on October 2011 sales was down 19.1% from October 2010, when as you can see on the graph there was 7.7 months of inventory.

Columbus schools neighborhoods such as Indian Hills, Linworth Village, Sycamore Hills and The Gables are in the Columbus, Ohio 43235 zip code.

Dublin schools neighborhoods including Brookside Colony, Brookside Woods or part of the neighborhood, and Whispering Pines are in the 43235 zip code.

Worthington schools neighborhoods  in the 43235 zip code include Brookside Estates, Brookside Village, Brookside Woods, Stilson Highlands, Stilson Village (patio homes) Summerwood,  Worthington Hills and Worthingview.  Brookside Woods is one neighborhood in two Central Ohio school districts. Central Ohio school district boundaries were set long before this area was developed.  The city of Columbus developed northwestern Franklin County aggressively in the 1970s and 1980s. Worthington is not part of the Win - Win agreement with Columbus.  Worthington had an agreement prior to "Win-Win" in the 1980s.   Dublin is part of the Win - Win agreement along with other Central Ohio school districts.  Attendance areas within the school districts are available from each school district. Always check and double check the school district a home is in if that is a concern for your family. Use the Franklin County auditors information to verify any published information about a home for sale.

Attendance areas within a particular school district may change year to year based on population shifts within that  school district.

 Worthington a Winter Wonderland - First Friday December 2011

Worthington, Ohio a Winter Wonderland with NO Snow yet...

High Street in Worthington was all white and wonderful last night for First Friday.  Worthington and all of Central Ohio does not have snow yet.  Mixture of snow and rain in the forecast for Wednesday?  We'll see.  

When I heard the clip clop of hooves on High Street I thought it was the same carriage as Sunday for Worthington's Holiday Open House. That carriage... kind of a farm cart was cute with pretty yellow spoked carriage wheels. When I saw the pretty white carriage on Friday Night I chased it up the street trying to get a good photo. I got a lot of photos...  lots of blurry lights and movement.  I do not claim to be a photographer. 

For First Friday in Worthington the shops stay open late.  Worthington had luminaries on High Street and New England Avenue and carriage rides for the December 2011 Worthington First Friday.  The first First Friday in Worthington was July 2011.  

Our real estate office at 681 High St. Worthington, Real Living HER was open last night for First Friday with Christmas music, coffee and cookies. 

Thanks to Steve from Candle Lab for visiting Real Living HER Worthington during the December First Friday and bringing us (HER Worthington) a candle!!  Our office smells like pine now.
